The baby version of my Frugal Solar “Death Ray” Oven. Started as a simple proof-of-concept prototype, it’s a cool option to test run the solar oven without using up all of your aluminum foil.
Simply paste a sheet of aluminum foil shiny side up onto a semicircular piece of cardstock or thick paper. Cut out little slits on the diameter, and fold together. Tape into a paper cup or onto a skewer and poke the other end into the ground for a quick stand. Use a dark colored sheet of parchment paper or cupcake wrapper to melt mini-marshmallows.
The mini version cannot boil water, but it serves as a fun demonstration of the power of concentrated solar energy.
