These are red fire shrimp, a darker-colored variant of red cherry shrimp. They are usually less than 1 inch long when fully grown, produce very little waste, and are relatively easy to care for. A starting colony of 5 shrimp in a heavily planted 10 gallon tank needs only monthly water changes. The shrimp eat algae and microorganisms naturally living in the tank, and can in theory go without feeding, although I give them a tiny pinch of brine shrimp cubes every 2-3 days.
Unfortunately, their small size makes them hard to photograph.
